Eagan Building Group of Washington has completed the construction of a 10,300-square-foot brewery in Defiance for Busch Family Brewing & Distilling. The new brewery serves a wide variety of newly developed craft beers produced on-site while also paying homage to the history of the Busch family’s long legacy of brewing. The property the brewery is built on was formerly the Bridlespur Hunt Club, which was originally founded by August Busch Sr. in 1927.
The building’s design is not the typical brewery feel, offering an ambiance reminiscent of a family farm. Visitors to the brewery are welcomed into an interior that blends modern and historical elements. The space features exposed trusses, a corrugated tin ceiling, and rough-sawn reclaimed lumber from a historic barn. In collaboration with Godat Architectural Design Services, Eagan worked meticulously with Billy Busch to bring his vision to life. A standout feature of the brewery is its enclosed patio at the rear of the building. Overlooking a lighted fountain set on a 5-acre lake, the patio offers a retreat for guests. Equipped with infrared heaters and retractable walls & screens, the patio provides a comfortable atmosphere in all weather conditions, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and social gatherings.
